When a stranger arrives, long-buried secrets come to light, and the search for a hidden treasure turns into a struggle for survival.
The harsh winter of 1943. Wolff, a mysterious official from Berlin, arrives in a sleepy town in eastern Poland. He keeps the reasons for his visit strictly under wraps, but his very presence quickly disrupts the peace in Małe Zalesie. An atmosphere of mistrust and danger grows. Everyone has their secrets, and rumors of missing gold begin to blur the line between truth and lies. A story about people caught up in dramatic choices, where life is at stake and every decision carries real consequences.
In the media:
«(…) ‘Dziki Dziki Wschód,’ which, within the genre’s framework, explores the spiral of violence and morality in extreme situations, resonates much more powerfully today.»
— Kuba Armata, Interia FILM
«By drawing on the conventions of classic genre cinema, Holoubek masterfully misleads the viewer. (…) The stifling, even predatory atmosphere of horror is amplified by the excellent, dusty yet chilling set design.»
— Karolina Stankiewicz, Wirtualna Polska
