When fame starts to weigh you down, you have to learn how to live without it
Eivind Landsvik’s feature debut marks Norwegian indie-pop artist Marie Ulven’s first appearance on the big screen. Known by her stage name Girl in Red, she stars opposite Anders Danielsen Lie (“The Worst Person in the World”). At the height of her musical career, Maja suddenly loses her footing. Forced to put her ambitions on hold, and left without money or prospects, she returns to her family home and takes a job at a local high school. Away from the stage, expectations and the pressure to succeed, she discovers a world built around small gestures, everyday encounters and ordinary intimacy. With tenderness and humour, Eivind Landsvik tells a story about crisis, loneliness and growing into a life lived on your own terms. A bittersweet tale about how sometimes you have to lose everything to find yourself again.
