What does it truly mean to be close to another person? Ryûsuke Hamaguchi returns with a hypnotic work about the art of care and the struggle to escape the heartless pace of the modern world.

At a care home on the outskirts of Paris, director Marie-Lou (Virginie Efira) attempts to introduce a compassionate approach to working with elderly residents. However, she soon encounters the harsh realities of the market. A chance encounter with Mari (Tao Okamoto), a Japanese filmmaker living with an incurable illness, marks the beginning of an extraordinary relationship. Through long conversations and quiet evenings, the two women build a safe haven – a space where art and philosophy intertwine in a meditation on everyday humanism.
