It was dark, it was… really dark. I think this man’s soul was all plunged into darkness, is how Christian Friedel describes his role, for which he received his second EFA nomination. It is worth recalling that the film’s co-producer is Ewa Puszczynska, who heads the Lodz-based company Extreme Emotions. Friedel will receive a special award from the Kamera Akcja Festival for special artistic achievement in the art of filmmaking, which will highlight his groundbreaking acting performance in “Zone of Interest.” The only feature film festival in Lodz will also be an opportunity to meet the actor. On Friday, October 25, 2024, there will be a special screening of the film and an acting masterclass, during which Friedel will talk about the behind-the-scenes work with the most provocative filmmakers of contemporary cinema: Glazer and Haneke. The meeting will be moderated by Kaja Klimek, a respected film critic and journalist.
