Christian Friedel and Woods of Birnam
In addition to acting in films, Christian Friedel is also the frontman of Woods of Birnam, a band whose arrangements combine modern indie and art pop with elements referencing film art, painting and theatrical productions. This will be the group’s first concert in Poland. It will take place as part of the Soundedit Festival. The visual-audience shows thrill the audience every time, and on October 26 (Saturday) at 10:00 pm they will delight the participants of the Łódź festival. At the Łódź Wytwórnia, lovers of alternative music will be able to hear (and see!) the concert “Dorian”, which is a showcase of Christian Friedel’s acting and musical skills. The show is directed by Robert Wilson – one of the most important theater artists of our time, nominated for, among others, the Pulitzer Prize and winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale. The concert is an amalgamation of three stories – Basil Hallward, Francis Bacon and Oscar Wilde – in which memories, experiences, thoughts and feelings are intertwined. It is the story of a painter, a model, a poet and a lover, captivating a stream of images and taking the audience on a fascinating journey through the complex relationships between artists and their works. Participation in the event only with a Soundedit Festival pass or Saturday ticket, or by advance reservation with a Camera Action Festival pass.
